咽
1、(形声。从口,因声。本义:咽头)。
2、同本义 消化和呼吸的通道,位于鼻腔、口腔的后方,喉的上方,相应地分为鼻咽、口咽和喉咽三部分。通称咽喉。
咽,嗌也。---《说文》。段注:“咽者,因也,言食因于是以上下也。”
咽,又谓之嗌,气所流通,厄要之处也。---《释名》
