蒸
1、(形声。烝声。本义:麻秆)。
2、同本义。
蒸,析麻中干也。---《说文》。今俗谓之麻骨棓,古烛用之,故凡用麻干葭苇竹木为烛皆曰蒸。
蒸,炬也。---《广雅》
故云烛用蒸也。---《仪礼》疏
3、细小的木柴。
共祭祀之薪蒸材木。---《周礼·委人》。注:“给炊及燎,粗者曰薪,细者曰蒸。”
蒸间容蒸然者处下。---《管子·弟子职》。注:“细薪也。”
以薪以蒸。---《诗·小雅》
蒸薪:木柴。
4、中药炮制法之一 。将药物隔水蒸熟,以便于制剂。如茯苓、厚朴蒸后易于切片。或加酒拌蒸,如大黄、地黄经蒸制后,熟大黄的泻下减弱,熟地黄便成温性而滋肾补血。
5、假借为“烝”。气体上升。
